We've just stayed with you again, for the third time.

I wanted to let you know why...

Your rooms are beautiful, and your bathrooms are exceptional. The cocktail bar is possibly the best bar I've been in (and I've been in a few!) - great atmosphere, music and wonderful drinks.

But the main reason we keep coming back is your staff. Every single person we come across at The Kenilworth is happy! Nothing is too much trouble - from recommending places to eat, sorting taxis, to explaining the cocktails and having time to talk to us. They are, without exception, superb.

We travel a fair amount, and enjoy visiting different places and staying in different hotels, but I have never experienced service like that at The Kenilworth. A number of hotels that claim to be 5 star could learn a lot from you. So you leave me with a problem - I can't find anywhere else to go that I enjoy as much! I'll have to keep coming back, and maybe next time I'll try the room with the double bath!

Thank you - you have achieved excellence!

Stunning - Stunning - Stunning!!
Three words to try and describe the Kenilworth and room 11. What an amazing find and we are so glad we did our homework on hotels in your area. The room was fabulous and you would be hard pushed to find a better bathroom in a hotel room for ten times the price! We have travelled the world and can comfortably say, this is the cleanest, friendliest and most cosy hotel we have ever stayed at. It knocks the socks off the Mayfair in London - your staff are so attentive and nothing is too much to ask. You can tell they love working at the Kenilworth and don't have the usual manner with which hotel staff normally carry a glazed face and false smiles! We are already planning our next trip and will definately stay for more than one night next time. We will be able to ditch the car and sample some more delightful coctails!. Thanks again for making a normal saturday night exceptional.

I just wanted to compliment you on a really wonderful hotel. We stayed in room 7 and it was gorgeous -it exceeded all of my expectations! I would especially like to thank you for being so accommodating. I forgot my purse and when I asked if the details I had booked with could be used to pay for the room that was no problem at all. Hopefully we'll come back soon and take a little more time to sample your cocktails!

Thank you so much for the wonderful attention you gave to Tricia's Hen Party. The Kenilworth is just the most fabulous venue. The cocktails were absolutely divine and in particular the specially created Trish Dish which was just perfect. I know Tricia was particularly touched by the personalised theme and how special this made her feel. She was especially thrilled with her keep sake scroll. You really did exceed on all my expectations and we had a wonderful evening at the Kenilworth. I am already planning my return visit, this to stay with my Husband in the hotel!
Many, many thanks once again.

We have just enjoyed a brief one-night stay at The Kenilworth in Room 5 - what an experience! Firstly, what a stunning hotel you have. The room was beautiful, the bathroom incredible. The cocktail lounge was truly memorable, with a fantastic atmosphere and wonderful choice of music! I have rarely experienced such a relaxing, enjoyable evening! I am converted to cocktails! Secondly, your staff were all amazing. Please pass on our thanks to everyone who was working during our stay. Quality staff are hard to find, but all of your employees are a credit. They made us feel so welcome - nothing was too much trouble and they are helpful and attentive. They make your hotel special. In addition, the skill and knowledge of your cocktail masters was unbelievable. We have stayed in many hotels around the country, but I don't think we have enjoyed a break as much as we did at The Kenilworth. Truly an amazing find, and we will be back!
Thank you again.

We wanted to thank you again for such a lovely break this weekend. Everything about our stay at the Kenilworth was so enjoyable and you and the staff made us feel very welcome. Our room was so comfortable - have already been out and bought a sensor foam pillow! The Molton Brown goodies were lush and I loved having fresh coffee delivered to the room. Breakfast was great and as for the cocktails... well, I've already started a 'fund' in readiness of our next visit. Thanks again and hope to be back for our anniversary in October.

I would like to thank you all for making our stay perfect as it could be. After staying at many luxury/boutique hotels I found the Kenilworth to be that bit more special. The level of service was second to none, professionalism genuine and the most wonderful sense of being made welcome. Keep up the great work.

I wanted to drop you a quick email having recently made just my second visit to The Kenilworth. I feel very privileged to have come across you and now that I have found you will definitely be making regular visits. As I live in Kenilworth it is unlikely that I will ever have occasion to stay personally but I would have no reservations at all (no pun intended!) in recommending you to others, including my clients. Wonderful place gentlemen, congratulations!

Just wanted to say a very big 'Thank you' to all the staff at the Kenilworth for a lovely couple of days on Sun, Mon and Tuesday that we spent with you. Everything at the Kenilworth was just wonderful and it made such a special difference to my birthday celebration. We enjoyed every minute we spent with you and your staff and cannot wait until we will be able to visit with you all again. Many thanks for making us feel so welcome and for making my birthday such a memorable one.
Linda and Bill Jones

PS The Brandy Alexander's where the best we have ever tasted!!

The Kenilworth hosts an ambience that Is rare to find these days...soft lighting, candles, great jazz music through the speakers and a drinks menu that is truly amazing! I have found a new local!

What a gem! It's difficult to find a boutique hotel that doesn't dissappear up it's own backside! The Kenilworth is tasteful, refined yet still has its feet firmly on the ground. Mr Gilliam (the mixologist) is an ace, Darren and Stuart are quite obviously deidicateed to the place! I live (and drink!) in Manchester and struggle to find a worthy comparison.

Perfectly lovely hotel. We were lucky enough to stay in 3 of the rooms and they were all superb. Decadent bathrooms! Actually wanted to bring the bathrooms home with me. Thinking of ways to reproduce them here at home... Can't say enough about the staff, went above and beyond and really seemed to care what we were doing/how we were enjoying our visit. Wonderful people. The music in the bar/breakfast room was a wonderful touch of nostalgia. Also very cool to stay in a 500-year old building and have EVERY modern convenience up to and including wireless or hard-wired computer access. Would we go there again?? In a New York minute!
Special thanks to Danielle who made our room so luxuriously clean and cozy every morning.

Village Life meets Contemporary Cool' Visited for my Wedding Anniversary and was not disappointed. Am trying to think of another excuss to go back. The exterior doesn't give you a clue as to what gems lay inside. I can't praise the staff enough, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 4 which has a stunning wet room, the Molton Brown goodies were a real girlie treat. The detail is impeccable. The cocktails are to die for and so too is the cocktail lounge. Although the hotel does not provide evening dinner, a tapas style menu is on offer and looked and smelt divine. There are restaurants aplenty nearby though, the Bosquet being mouth watering. All in all, a wonderful time - this one is not to be missed.

Wow, what a gem! We visited the Kenilworth for my partner's birthday. I'd not visited before although I had visited Kenilworth (I live in Birmingham) and booked based on the reviews here which it certainly lived up to.
I had booked as a suprise for my partner and the management went along with my mysterious behaviour - (checking me in in the corridor so she wouldn't notice for example!).
We started in the cocktail bar with what are easily the best cocktails you will find anywhere in the Midlands. So good in fact that it made me want to move to Kenilworth so this place could be my local... (though I would probably become an alcoholic). Anyway, after some marvellous drinks it was off to get a meal at one of the many fantastic restaurants that Kenilworth has to offer - we went for Simpsons - Michelin star winning dontcha know - and pretty darn lovely it was too...
Then back for more cocktails and off to bed. We were above the bar in room 3. Massive bed, massive tv (with sky) and amazing mezzanine bathroom with lovely big bath, molton brown products etc. Can happily say that even though we were directly over the bar and things were still going strong when we went to bed we weren't disturbed by noise in the slightest.
All in all a great place to stay. If I were visiting anywhere in the Midlands for work rather than living here I would stay here as you get a better room for your money than in the cities, the best cocktails in the Midlands and a better selection of top quality restaurants than Birmingham or Coventry can offer. All in all, thoroughly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay, friendly and helpful staff, they recommended and booked a lovely restaurant for us. The room was excellent and beautifully decorated.

What a delightful place! Fab cocktails, lovely lovely rooms. Thank you very much, not just for making me and my husband feel very welcome and special, but also for dreaming up and creating such a gem.
I can still taste your fabulous fudge!

The Hotel was very well presented and felt very modern and luxurious. The staff where friendly and very helpful. We would highly recommend this Hotel for couples of all ages.

The best kept secret in the Midlands! New Years Eve was the best we've had in years, outstanding levels of quality and service with a home from home welcome. A hidden oasis of style, you never want to leave (especially the bar, till at least 5am!). Thanks to all staff for another great night, see you in Feb!

This is a great hotel. The staff are attentive, the rooms are beautiful and the service is excellent. The location is convienient. If you like jazz and cocktails, you will love the bar. The atmosphere is really relaxing. Great value for money.

Well the guest in room No. 6 is back at work for a day before taking the rest of the year off. I just wanted to say that I very much appreciated my stay at The Kenilworth! You provide a very unique and well done service when considering the entire package. My unpleasant stay at the Gatwick Holiday Inn on Friday was a reminder of how well I had it the first 5 days of my stay in the UK. One of my colleagues will be visiting Aston Martin in January. I've already sent him information on the Kenilworth.

Good, relaxed and friendly welcome and taken personally to room which exceeded our expectations. Good continental breakfast and the wine bar serves good value food and cocktails - this hotel has class and does not skimp on quality or quantity!

I would just like to thank you again for a lovely stay. I could not fault anything with the facilities and service and have never felt so at home in a hotel. I will be recommending The Kenilworth to all my friends and customers and will most definitely be returning soon myself.
Thanks & Regards.

Gemma - UK

The hotel was billiant, the room was amazing and the facilities in the room were state of art. The owners/staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall a fanatastic hotel.

I have never laughed so much as when watching my boyfriend trying to score goals on the I - toy game , I have never drank so many fantastic bloody marys (and lived to tell the tale the next day), I have never slept in such a comfortable bed - with groovy, I want one of those touch lamps, beside. And I have never been so suprised as to discover I am having another child as a direct result from staying at your fantastic hotel. Ken or Mary will be born, all being well in July!

Thank you all for a great and he hem... memorable... weekend.
Neela - St Albans

Please accept my extreme gratitude for making my pre-birthday celebrations such an outstanding success. Everyone without exception has commented on what a great venue the Kenilworth was, and how indusive the atmosphere was to relaxing and having a good time. The tapas, cocktails and staff were fantastic, a special thanks to Helen and especially to Richard who wooed everyone with his knowledge and mixicologistic (sounds good but not sure if it's the right word) skills. Both the drinkers and drivers had their taste buds satiated by custom cocktails, both alcoholic and non. I count the days to my next stop-over.
Kevin B - Cardiff

One minute I'm in Kenilworth the next I walk into your place and I could have been in New Orleans or New York. What a night guys! Staff fantastic, and cocktails to die for for. The accommodation was stunning. Just tell me to leave the bar before 5am next time!!

A Hidden Gem
January 2011 by thecocktailgeek

Hidden away in a small town in North Warwickshire is a hotel with a twist. The Kenilworth, helpfully named after the town in which it resides, is a 'boutique' hotel that just so happens to also house the most extraordinary cocktail bar.

The Kenilworth is a classy establishment; guests are welcomed with the sort of greeting that instantly makes you feel like you never want to leave. Jazz plays soothingly in the background whilst the friendly and knowledgeable staff provide effortlessly smooth table-service to a discerning clientele. The bar is fun yet mature, upscale yet relaxed, and contemporary yet timeless all at the same time. Though my visits over the years have seen bartenders change, the atmosphere never has; it feels like home.

The hotel itself is absolutely charming. Much of it is located in a lovingly restored 16th century building to provide contemporary accommodation that has lost none of the original charm. Each room is different, making the best use of each space. One room has a cute staircase leading to the bathroom, several have original wooden beams, and all are decked out to the highest quality. Large wet rooms, designer furniture, walnut clad walls and superbly comfortable beds all make for a delightful stay.

The main focus for me of course are the cocktails. My latest visit came over a year since the previous one, with the intervening period being so crammed with amazing cocktail experiences that I worried it would not live up to expectations. My worries turned out not just to be unfounded, but plain ridiculous, for this is a cocktail bar at the top of its game. The menu is currently a lengthy affair comprising the best part of 100 drinks, plus a specials list of another half dozen. Each double page spread focuses on a different spirit or drink category; first there are the signature classics (with a range of spirits offered at different price points), then a tantalising mix of old and new, plus the Kenilworth own inventions. Unusual ingredients frequently make an appearance as do a huge number of homemade syrups, sherbets and cordials. Rob (bar manager) has even created his own 'Old Fashioned' syrups to facilitate delicious yet speedy Old Fashioneds' during even the busiest service.

You could be forgiven for thinking that a bar in deepest Warwickshire might not be the most forward-thinking or modern expression of cocktail culture. Not so; new techniques and styles are embraced here, but they are always executed in an intelligent way. Fierce quality control ensures only the best drinks make it onto the menu and when they do, boy are you in for a treat. My first drink of the evening was a "Clover Club 3000?, served as a foam and sprinkled with popping candy. I have tried 'foams' in several bars now and I've not quite been convinced. This drink however was superb, the foam remained stable right until the very bottom and the contrast of the soft foam and the harshness of the popping candy was pure genius. Other highlights included a Solera (rum, sherry, madeira and balsamic vinegar) which was complex, moreish, and beautifully smooth; a Four seasons fizz (strawberry and rhubarb syrup, gin and champagne) tasted like the most intensely fruity ice-cream, with a depth of flavour that remains with me several weeks later; and an English garden that combined gin, thyme, and rosemary to create a most unusual but lip-smacking twist on a julep.

As with any successful bar, what makes the Kenilworth stand out are it's people. There is a special magic here that combines passion with the most incredible skill to deliver an exceptional experience. The owners, Darren and Stuart, insist on the highest standards and their passion is clear to see. They also seem to have a rather good knack for recruiting amazingly talented bartenders. Rob Wood, bar manager, has a flair for flavour that is a cut above the rest. He doesn't just deliver great tasting drinks, but interesting, unusual and often game-changing ones as well. Never before have I consumed so many drinks that make me smile as at the Kenilworth, and that says a lot. If you try just one new place this year, make it the Kenilworth, it really is something special.
